Here is a small sample…
The list below is a small sampling of the stories I would like to tell. (You will find the moral of the story in the parenthesis.)

Coming from a small town with one stop light, I never expected the line of hundreds and hundreds of perfect dancers waiting to audition. It was all too much for me… but I wanted to see backstage. The only reason I got the job was my curiosity, not my courage. (Lesson: Let your curiosity continue to draw you closer to God.)

In the same moment I was looking for a job, a fax came through looking for someone to work at 20th Century Fox. That day I got the job. As I was transitioning out of the job, our fax machine was FILLED with resumes wanting my job. When I asked them why they sought me out if they get hundreds of people apply for the job, they told me that when I was hired they hadn’t received even one resume. (Your path is sometimes fully guided by God’s divine miracles.)

At 20th Century Fox, I worked in the office that cast famous people in movies. One day I was holding the headshots and resumes of Harrison Ford, Matt Damon, and Leonardo Dicaprio and asked if I would ever get to meet Matthew Lillard. They thought that was so funny that they brought him in to audition for the movie Office Space. I was so nervous until during his audition, he looked at me with curious eyes and said, “How am I doing?” I wasn’t even thinking about him. I was so selfish. (Think of others before yourself.)

I was once fired by southwest airlines for 3 miscommunications. It felt insane - like I was in some weird hidden camera show. But when I got home, my life made a left turn to my most perfect life. (Some of the most confusing moments are actually God perfectly timing your life.)
-
When The Rock on was on The Tonight Show, it was one of the craziest days. I didn’t know that his fan base is very passionate. We actually had special badges that day for people allowed in the studio. Then, an NBC employee tried to get past me with her NBC badge and not the special badge. When I tried to stop her, she pushed passed me running down the hall screaming for him. She was tackled by security and lost her job. (What are our idols and why?)
-
My brother loved No Doubt so the day they were on the show, I asked him to come have lunch with me so we could maybe run into them in the hallway. Well, he was late and I knew we wouldn’t get to run into them, but I took him into the studio anyway and perfectly/accidentally No Doubt was doing their sound check. My brother got his own personal concert and then got to say hi to them. (Our perfect timing isn’t always God’s perfect timing.)
-
I saw an office labeled Employment Office. I walked in and asked for a job. By the end of the day I was hired working at a tour guide for the studio. (Here I am. Send me.)

When the Friends cast was leaving the lot, all traffic had to stop. It was so the cast could leave the lot without being followed. Well, one day the announcement went out, but I was late for a meeting so I kept driving my little cart. I almost smashed right into Matthew Perry’s Porsche. I knew I was going to be in trouble, so I decided to make the best of it. I leaned forward like I wanted to race and he revved his engine. We raced through the New York backlot, laughing like friends. (God also wants joy in your life.)

After my adventures in Hollywood, I auditioned for Disneyland again. Inexplicably, I was cut in the first round. Suddenly, they ran after me, put me in a break room for 8 hours and I never danced. On the last round of casting, I looked to the girl next to me and said, “If I get a job now, the is a miracle.” I got the job. Not one bit of dancing. (Tell people about the miracles you see.)

I auditioned to be a rollerblader at Disneyland. When it was my turn to skate, I thought about everything in my life that led to this. The heart break of leaving my farm house for the city started my rollerblading. My dance training made me skate like a figure skater. Working at a summer camp taught me to skate on ramps. (Don’t forget to look back and see how God set you up for where you are right now.)
